Installation process of duplex wallpapers

  1. Prepare for tailoring and gluing wallpapers by covering a big table or any flat surface with a paper sheet or drop cloth first.
  2. Cut wallpapers considering the height of ceiling. Lay strips of wallpaper back side up over the flat surface.
  3. Duplex wallpapers have one layered overlapping parts with five mm width along the edge of the wallpapers, where adjacent strips are overlapped.
  4. Duplex wallpapers are composed of two layers of thin paper.
  5. Measure and cut each strip identically.
  6. Close windows lest the applied glue dry fast. Put glue and water into a bucket together and mix them well. General mixing rates of glue and water by weight Summer, Glue : Water = 1 : 1 Winter, Glue : Water = 1 : 1.5 The rates depend on glue properties. Please take a careful look at the glue manual.
  7. Stir well the mixture not to generate granules
  8. Apply glue carefully to the entire area of wallpaper back by using a paint roller or adhesive brush. Make sure to cover every inch of the paper to prevent air bubbles. Try to keep your flat surface as clean as possible so glue does not get on the front side of the paper.
  9. Once glue is distributed over the entire piece, book the paper by folding the ends in to the center. Lay the piece on a table and fold the ends in so that glue is touching glue. This gives the glue time to activate. Once the ends are folded in, fold the new ends into the center again. Be careful not to crease the paper. This is called booking the wallpaper.
  10. When cutting strips, matching patterns design must be considered.
  11. Apply glue to strips without air bubbles and book for 20 minutes..
  12. Hang the matured wallpapers to the walls. Insufficient time of mature could cause wrinkles on the wallpapers.
  13. Use a smoothing brush or smoothing knife to force out any air bubbles moving from the center outward.
  14. Hold the blade of a putty knife into the corner where the ceiling and wall meet. Use a single-edge razor to cut off the excess paper at the ceiling. Slide the putty knife along the wall as you cut the paper. Once the ceiling is trimmed, do the same to trim the excess paper at the floor.
  15.  Hold the second piece up by the top end and line up the pattern if there is one. Press the wallpaper along the top where the pattern matches and let the folded piece of wallpaper unfold.

Installation process of PVC wallpaper

  1. Prepare for tailoring and gluing wallpapers by covering a big table or any flat surface with a paper sheet or drop cloth first.
  2. Cut wallpapers considering the height of ceiling. Lay strips of wallpaper back side up over the flat surface.
  3. When cutting strips, flip each strip to make sure pattern designs are matched.

  9. Apply glue to strips without air bubbles and book for at least one hour to at most three hours.
  10. Remove existing wallpapers from the walls when booking new wallpapers. In the installation procedure of PVC wallpapers, non-woven fabric is usually hung first, which prevents moisture from being entrapped and gives a taut finishing.
  11. Horizontally install non-woven fabric strips with 10 cm apart from the both ends.
  12. Attach thin and narrow white paper sheets to the places, where the edges of wallpaper strips are supposed to be aligned, so that the edges can correctly be adhered to the wall.
  13. There are rough and smooth surfaces. Glue should be applied on the smooth surface.
  14. Use a smoothing brush or smoothing knife to force out any air bubbles moving from the center outward.
  15. Smooth the entire strip from ceiling to floor making sure the seam lines up correctly without any gaps between adjacent strips.
  16. Use a seam roller to press the edge of the wallpaper down. This will ensure that the edge is securely adhered to the wall.
